Artistic Mentorship
People rarely want to just learn how to draw or paint. What they really want is “to explore their creativity”. They want to learn the tools to express themselves, voice their ideas in a visual language and/or understand their inner world better.
The world of art is so vast that it’s easy to get lost, not knowing where to even begin to explore.
This is where mentorship can help. Starting from your interests, questions and ideas, we find the directions that are meaningful to you. Different approaches and ways of working open up new possibilities, while the right skills give you the freedom to explore them. Over time, this becomes a process of discovering and developing your own visual language.
My role is not to tell you what your art should look like, but to help you see what is already there and guide you towards developing it further.
"I have been very fortunate to receive One-to-One Artistic Mentoring from Katya. I'm an adult who has been passionate about art my whole life, but never received the education or guidance I needed to express myself with my art.
I've improved my confidence in my ability with Katya's practical training. But Katya's mentorship helped me recognize what I am trying to say with my art. She asked me very thoughtful questions, listened carefully and helped me find a clear path forward to explore and develop my own artistic language. To me it feels like I've been standing at a sign post for decades without knowing which path to take. I felt stuck. What I needed was a north star to follow, which has become visible to me now because of this mentorship. I cannot overstate how meaningful this is for me and how thankful I am for Katya's guidance."
